Lauren Rottet is the Founding Principal of Rottet Studio, an international architecture and design firm with an extensive portfolio of corporate and hospitality projects. Ms. Rottet is one of the most celebrated contemporary interior architects, with an extraordinary record of awards, publications, lectures, juries and honors. Ms. Rottet has the distinct honor of being the first woman, and one of only eight individuals, to be inducted into both the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) College of Fellows and the American Institute of Architects (AIA) College of Fellows. In 2006, Rottet was inducted as an Inaugural Member of the Women in Design Hall of Fame. Ms. Rottet's furniture and product designs have earned her four gold medals for Best of NeoCon and a Chicago Athenaeum Award.

Building upon a highly acclaimed corporate design career, Ms. Rottet has created a striking new presence in hospitality design with the highly acclaimed Surrey Hotel in Manhattan, the brand new Presidential Bungalows at The Beverly Hills Hotel in Beverly Hills, and The St. Regis Aspen, which underwent a renovation in 2011. In 2012 Rottet will add The James Royal Palm in Miami to her impressive portfolio of hotel projects.

Ms. Rottet finds the design of the interior environment particularly challenging and satisfying, combining psychology, theater, art and architecture with the use of unlimited media. Ms. Rottet's distinct design approach, characterized by precise detail and architecturally-driven solutions, reflects her 25 years of professional practice, as well as a commitment to improve the human experience through the built environment.

Among her colleagues, Ms. Rottet is known as an innovator and teacher, devoting significant time to the education of her staff and to the advancement of the profession. Under her direction, the AIA Interiors Committee has not only become a major force in fundraising for the advancement of the profession, but has established a significant scholarship program for students in interior architecture. Ms. Rottet is an active member of IIDA, the Rice Design Alliance and is a Board Member of the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston.

Ms. Rottet is a native of Houston, TX and graduated with a degree in Architecture from the University of Texas. Prior to forming Rottet Studio in 2008, Ms. Rottet co-founded the architecture and interiors firm Keating Mann Jernigan Rottet and was Principal-in-Charge of the interiors practice at DMJM Rottet for fourteen years. She began her career with SOM, first in Chicago, then in Texas, and finally, Los Angeles.
